Cookie Policy — A Short Story About Small Files

Last updated: May 2025

Last updated: May 2026

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Despite the name, they contain no chocolate chips and offer no nutritional value. They do, however, help websites remember things about you — for better or worse.

Here is our complete, honest, non-terrifying breakdown of every cookie we use:

1. Essential Cookies (Always Active)

These cookies are strictly necessary for the site to function. Without them, things break. You cannot opt out of these, but they do not track you for advertising purposes.

  • Language preference: remembers whether you chose English or Polish. Expires: 1 year.
  • Session state: keeps you logged into the admin panel if you are an admin. Expires: session.
  • CSRF protection: a security token that prevents cross-site request forgery attacks. Expires: session.

2. Analytics Cookies (Optional, Consent Required)

If you consent via our cookie banner, we use analytics cookies to understand how people use the site. This helps us make it better. We use privacy-respecting analytics (no Google surveillance economy here).

  • Page views: which pages are visited and how often
  • Session duration: how long visitors spend on the site
  • Referral source: how visitors found us
  • Device type: desktop vs. mobile (aggregate only)

Analytics data is anonymized. We cannot identify you personally from analytics data. We do not share this data with third parties for advertising.

3. Cookies We Do NOT Use

For the sake of radical transparency:

  • No advertising/tracking cookies (we don't run ads)
  • No social media tracking pixels (Facebook, Google, TikTok, etc.)
  • No behavioral profiling cookies
  • No third-party retargeting
  • No "supercookies" or fingerprinting (we think those are creepy)

4. Third-Party Cookies

Stripe (our payment processor) may set cookies during the checkout flow. These are governed by Stripe's own cookie policy. We do not control them. Stripe uses them to prevent fraud and provide their service.

5. Managing Cookies

You can control cookies through:

  • Our cookie consent banner (appears on first visit)
  • Your browser settings (you can block or delete all cookies)
  • Browser extensions (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, etc.)

Note: blocking essential cookies will break site functionality. Blocking analytics cookies just means we have less data about aggregate traffic — which is fine.

6. Changes

If we add new cookies, we will update this policy and re-trigger the consent banner. We will not silently add tracking cookies. That would be rude.

7. Contact

Cookie questions: szymon.codecroissant@gmail.com. We will respond.
